Quest For Cinnabar Walkthrough
Follow the on-screen prompts to learn the controls. Walk/run to the left along the bottom of the map. You'll pass underneath the exit and Lara will comment. Climb up the ledges and down the other side.
Draw pistols, crouch and shoot the switch (S1) to raise a block (B1) behind you. Head back to the right and climb onto the block you just raised. Face left and press Up to jump straight up and grab the ledge above. Pull up.
Climb the ladder. At the top, face right and press Action to jump the gap. Approach the movable block and press Action to grab onto it. Then press Right to push it in that direction as far as it will go. Press Action again to let go. Climb on top of the block, walk to the right edge and jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up and take the medipack. Slide down the rope and head to the left.
Jump the gap, continue to the left and pull the switch (S2) to open the trapdoor (D2). Drop down through the opening and press Up to exit through the door.

Item Name: Pistols Item Code: GN0000 Description: These are the standard pistols that Lara always carries. They are not particularly powerful, but are better than nothing in a tight situation. |
![]() |
Item Name: Medi Pack Item Code: GN4700 Description: This is a small medical pack that will restore a portion of your health. It is an immediate use item and cannot be kept for later use. |
Go to the left, climb down the ladder and pull the movable block
to the left. Climb over it and down the ladder on the other side. Walk to the edge of the spike pit. Tap the Action key to jump across. Tap Action again to jump over the next spike pit and grab the opposite edge. Pull up and exit the level.
Walk to the right and stop at the edge. Press Action to jump the gap. Press Down to drop and hang from the edge. Press Down again to drop and grab the ledge below, then again to drop onto the movable block.
Push the block as far as possible to the right. Climb over it and quickly run across the break-away floor. Falling through will not hurt Lara, but the next trap like this will have spikes below, so get a feel for how it works.
Slide down the rope and pick up the dynamite (GN9342). Turn left and walk to the edge of the next section of break-away floor, this time above a spike pit. Run across quickly but be sure to stop before the edge.
Shoot the switch (S1) on the left wall to start a platform (P1) moving up and down. When it reaches the top, jump onto it. Ride it downward, past a fireball trap. As the platform moves, drop and hang from the left edge. When it reaches the bottom, drop onto the stacked movable blocks.
Stand next to the crumbling wall on the right. When the question mark icon (?) appears, press Action to go to Lara's inventory. Select the dynamite and press Action again to use it. Quickly climb over the block to the left and drop down on the other side to avoid being injured in the blast. Climb back over and get the Bronze Coins (QC8990) in the alcove.
Pull the upper movable block to the right. Then pull/push the lower left block against the left wall. Climb onto it to reach the exit.

Item Name: Dynamite
Item Code: GN9342 Description: Dynamite can be used to destroy weak sections of walls in the levels. When you pick up dynamite, it is stored in your inventory until you find a place where you can use it. A floating '?' indicates that Lara can interact with the environment. There are several possible types of interaction, one of which is placing the dynamite. |
![]() |
Item Name: Bronze Coins Item Code: QC8990 Description: A selection of bronze coins. However, they seem to have been intended for a specific function, as it appears that at some stage they were joined together by a piece of straw rope. The rope has long since rotted away and they are now just lying in a pile in the dust. |
Go to the left, passing over 2 stacked movable blocks. Go to the third block and push it against the left wall. Climb onto it and pull the switch (S1) to open the trapdoor (D1). Climb down through the opening. Place the Bronze Coins from the previous level on the scale (S2) to lower a dangling stone block (B2) in the room above.
Climb back up. Pull the switch (S1) again to close the trapdoor. Push the movable block over the closed trapdoor and against the ledge on the right. Pull the upper block to the left once. Climb onto it and jump straight up to grab the edge of the dangling block. Pull up.
Climb up on the right side and follow the hallway. Slide down the dangling rope and drop onto the pressure pad (P3), which opens the door (D3) to the right. Shoot the purple spirit. Then drop down on the left and get the medipack. You can't jump the gap due to the low ceiling, so climb up and over.
Climb down 2 ladders and go to the left along the bottom of the map. Step on the pressure pad (P4) to raise a large block (B4), revealing a secret hallway. Go to the end and pick up the Runic Moondial (QC8059).
Return to the right and climb the first ladder. Face left and wait for the moving platform to approach. Jump onto it. As it moves to the left, cross over it and hang from the left edge. Once you've cleared the spikes, pull up, turn left and jump to the ledge above the pressure pad. (Alternately, crouch to avoid the spikes and, once you've cleared them, stand, step to the left and jump to the ledge.) Exit to the next level.

Item Name: Runic Moondial Item Code: QC8059 Description: Careful examination of the runes inscribed on this moondial indicates that it should be used in conjunction with the Osiris Codex. Fortunately, it is a full moon tonight so Lara can operate the moondial as described to solve the puzzle. Placing the page containing the Eye of Horus at the centre of the moondial and reflecting the moonbeams through the dial's perforations, a faint map and instructions appear beneath the Eye. Using a pencil to quickly sketch in the illuminated map before the moonbeams fade, Lara now has a solution to accessing a hidden room that lies ahead. |
Get the dynamite and climb down the ladder. Set the dynamite near the crumbling wall to the right and jump out of the way before it explodes.
Shoot to the right twice to kill the 2 monks in the next room. Go to the right, climb up and get more dynamite. Jump the gap to the left and climb over the movable block onto a ledge with a pressure pad (P1).
The pad triggers a fireball trap (T1) off to the left. Wait for 2 fireballs to pass then pull up, step to the left edge and jump over the spike pit to grab the opposite ledge. Wait for 2 more fireballs to pass, then pull up and drop down on the other side.
Lara lands on another pressure pad (P2), which lowers a block on a chain (B2) off to the right but only as long as there is weight on the pad. Go to the right past the pressure pad. Grab the movable block and pull it as far as possible to the left. Climb over it, so Lara is on the right side of the block, and pull it once onto the pad.
Go to the right and climb onto the block (B2) you just lowered. Jump across the gap to the right. Use the switch (S3) to open a door (D3) in a room below. Dropping from this ledge will hurt Lara a bit, so if her health is low, you may want to jump back to the dangling block, climb down, push the movable block off the pressure pad and then climb down the ledges the way you came.
Return to the left through the room where you shot the monks. Use dynamite to blow up the crumbling wall below the ladder. Walk to the left edge. Jump onto the moving platform. Hang from the right edge as it descends, then drop to the floor.
Get the dynamite and use it to destroy the crumbling wall. Go to the right. If Lara's health is in good shape, leave the medipack for now. Climb the ladder and shoot the monk before he can blast Lara with his blue death ray. Jump across to where he was and grab more dynamite. The pressure pad (P4) here opens the door (D4) just to the left so you can return to the upper rooms, but you shouldn't need to do so.
Climb down and use the medipack if you didn't get it before. Then continue to the right past the exit, which you can't reach yet. Use dynamite to destroy the crumbling wall and quickly climb out of the way before it explodes. Go through to the right.
Climb the two short ladders. Lara can't help but step on the pressure pad (P5) as you use the switch (S6). The pad extends a small ledge (L5) below. The switch lowers a block (B6) into the pit near the exit. Drop down and pull the movable block once to the right. Climb back onto the ledge above it, drop and hang from the left edge, drop again to grab the ledge below, and then drop to the floor. Climb up to the exit and continue to the next level.
Go to the left and shoot the purple spirit. Continue left and jump to grab the edge of the moving platform when it descends. Pull up, ride it to the top, and get off on the left.
Advance to the left carefully. Jump over the break-away floor above the first spike pit. Wait until the moving spikes just begin to retract. Then jump over the second pit. Step onto the pressure pad (P1). This opens one part (D1) of a two-part door down below. Wait for the second set of spikes to retract and then run to the left.
To climb up past the fireball traps, first stand beneath the ledge on the right. Just after a fireball shoots from the gargoyle to the left, jump straight up to grab the ledge. Pull up, turn left and jump to grab the next ledge. Pull up, turn right, jump and grab, then pull up again. Repeat until you reach the top. Rather than trying to avoid the fireballs, just climb up as fast as you can. There's a medikit (GN9500) at the top.
Climb down on the right and jump to the square ledge. Jump from there to the first moving platform, then to the second (when they move level with each other), then to the ledge with the Bronze Bell (QC8491). Pick it up.
Slide down the rope and climb the stairs to a series of pressure pads (P2-P6). Each of these pads moves one in a series of blocks high above (B2-B6). The goal is to arrange the blocks into a staircase. To trigger a pad, step on it (obviously). To avoid triggering, stand between pads and jump to land between the next set of pads.
From the starting position, walk to the right across all five pads. Some pads have no effect at first because some blocks are preventing others from moving. So, from left to right, P2: no effect yet, P3: moves B3 down, P4: opens a door down below so you can get the second bell (more on that shortly), P5: no effect yet, P6: moves B6 to the left.
Now, stand just to the right of P6 and jump over it so it is not triggered. Lara lands on P5, which moves B5 downward. Step off P5 on the left side. Press Action to jump over P4 and P3. Step on P2 to move B2 to the left. Now the puzzle is solved: The blocks are arranged to form a staircase. To get back across the pads without triggering them again, step off P2 on the right side. Then press Action twice to jump over P3 and P4, then P5 and P6.
If you make a mistake, remember you can step on the pads as many times as you want, rearranging them until they form a staircase. Just be sure to trigger P4 before climbing up; otherwise the door to the room with the second bell will not be open when you get there.
Climb the ladder on the right wall. Jump over to the block staircase and climb to the top. Shoot the monk before he can blast Lara with a blue beam. Step into the teleporter (T1a) to appear several levels below (T1b). Don't exit the level yet. Instead go through the next teleporter (T2a) to appear on the level below (T2b).
Go to the left, through the doors you opened earlier (D1 and D4), and pick up the second Bronze Bell.
To get back to the exit without passing the fireball traps again, push the movable block onto the spikes. Climb onto the block and over the ledge to the left. Pull the block to the left then push it against the left wall. Climb up and go through a third teleporter (T3a) to appear once again near the exit (T3b). Go through.

Item Name: Bronze Bell Item Code: QC8491 Description: A bronze sanctifying bell commonly used in the first stage of a purification ritual. The bronze bell is commonly associated with the earth, with the mixture of metals that comprise bronze being equivalent to the earthly mixtures. Rituals associated with the earth should be conducted in the time when both the sun and moon are present in the sky. The Osiris codex discusses 3 different sanctifying rituals. The ritual for the bronze bell appears to be as follows: Prior to starting any ritual, it is necessary to cleanse the body and relax the mind. Ring the bell 3 times to commence the ritual. The first ring is to acknowledge the setting sun, the second ring is to acknowledge the rising moon and the third ring is to acknowledge the earth.Next, conduct the blessings provided in the Codex to the North, South, East and West. Finally, ring the bell 3 times to end the ritual. |
Jump and grab the moving block just to the right of the entrance. Ride it upward and jump off on the first ledge on the right (not the one above it). Cross this ledge to the right. Jump across the gap and continue to the right. (You'll ride the second moving block later.)
There's a third moving block just ahead. Jump onto it, move to the right edge and ride it downward. Jump off on the ledge with the switch (S1). Pull it to open the left door (D1) of the three barring the exit high above. When the moving block descends again, jump onto it. Ride it upward and jump off on the right.
Wait for a fireball to pass overhead. Climb over to the right and use the switch (S2) to open the middle door (D2) of the three near the exit.
Avoid the fireballs as you return to the left and climb onto the thin ledge overhead. Go left across the thin ledge and jump onto the moving block. Ride up and jump off on the ledge with the three green Buddha statues. Cross this ledge and climb the blocks on the right.
When the next moving block descends, jump onto it. Ride it upward and jump to the ledge below the medikit. Pick up the Copper Bell (QC9382) and use the switch (S3) to open a door (D3) on the left side of the map. Climb onto the ledge above and immediately shoot to the left to kill the monk on the next ledge. Pick up the medikit. Then climb back down on the right side near the switch (S3).
Walk to the edge of the ledge, wait for the moving block and jump onto it. Ride it down and jump off on the left. Climb back down to the ledge with the Buddha statues. Go to the left and jump onto the moving block. Ride it down and jump off on the left.
Cross this ledge and jump onto the next moving block. (This is the first moving block you encountered; the entrance is just below on the left.) Jump off on the left near the red-and-yellow striped columns.
Go to the left to the edge of a spike pit. Wait for the moving platform to descend and jump onto it. As the platform moves up and down, it passes four alcoves along the left wall, each with a switch (S4-S7). High above is a hallway with a medipack and another bell. There are 5 doors before the medipack (and one door between the medipack and the bell, which you opened already using switch S3). The switches open and close the five doors in various combinations. To get all five doors open, use only the bottom and second highest switches (S4 and S6). Then ride the platform almost to the top and jump off on the right. Take the medipack and second Copper Bell.
Jump back onto the platform, ride it back down and jump off on the right. Cross the ledge above the entrance, jump onto the moving block, and then jump to the lower of the two ledges on the right. Go right and jump onto the next moving block. Ride it up to the ledge with the four green Buddha statues and jump off. Cross in front of the statues and climb onto the ledge above.
Go left and jump across the gap to the switch (S8). Use it to open the third door (D8) barring the exit. When the moving block descends, jump onto it. Ride it upward and jump over to the exit.

Item Name: Copper Bell Item Code: QC9382 Description: A copper sanctifying bell commonly used in the second stage of a purification ritual. The copper bell is commonly associated with the moon, and any ritual involving a copper bell should be conducted at night under the full moon for best effect. The ritual for the copper bell is given in the Codex as follows: Prior to starting any ritual, it is necessary to cleanse the body and relax the mind. Ring the bell twice to commence the ritual, once to indicate the setting of the sun and a second time to indicate the rising of the moon. Next, conduct the blessings provided in the Codex to the North, South, East and West. Finally, ring the bell twice to end the ritual. Once to indicate the setting of the moon and a second time to indicate the rising of the sun. |
Walk to the edge and jump to the narrow ledge below on the right. Turn left and jump down to the teleporter (T1a). Go through to emerge just below near a crumbling wall (T1b). You'll need to find some dynamite to destroy it.
The low ceiling prevents Lara from jumping to the ledge with the medikit. So hang from the edge, wait for the gargoyle below to shoot out a fireball, then drop to the floor. If you need health, quickly climb onto the ledge above the gargoyle and get the medikit. Otherwise, get the dynamite first, then get the health.
To reach the dynamite, follow the fireball to the left, drop and hang from the edge as you wait for another fireball to pass. Then pull up, turn right and jump the gap to grab the opposite ledge. Wait for another fireball to pass, pull up, take the dynamite, then hang from the edge before another fireball comes.
Timing your moves to avoid fireballs, pull up, turn left, jump the gap, pull up, run toward the gargoyle and climb onto the ledge above it. Use the medikit if you didn't before. Jump over to the ledge with the crumbling wall. Set the dynamite and hang from the edge to avoid injury. Take the Golden Bell (QC1764).
NOTE: The teleporter below on the right (T2a) deposits Lara on the ledge near the first teleporter (T2b). You shouldn't need to use it.
Again, timing your moves to avoid fireballs, drop down, go to the right, jump the gap, cross the ledge to the right and drop down. Draw guns and immediately shoot the purple spirit off to the left.
Get more dynamite on the ledge below, but don't drop down into the teleporter (T3a) yet. Instead, go left and jump across two gaps (above the skull blocks). Set the dynamite near the crumbling wall and quickly hang from the ledge on the right to avoid injury.
Don't drop down here yet. Instead, pull up and jump back over to the left. Hang from the rightmost skull block. Let go to grab the smaller ledge below. Let go again and grab the ledge below that one. Pull up and climb down to the small room on the right with the medikit. Use the switch (S1) to open one of the doors (D1) blocking the exit.
Climb up two ledges to the teleporter (T3a). Go through to emerge on a ledge near the top right corner of the map (T3b). Jump over and get the dynamite. Then drop down on the left.
Jump the gap to the left (to the ledge where you found the Golden Bell). Again drop down in front of the flame-shooting gargoyle, jump the gap to the right, cross that ledge (where the first dynamite was) and drop down on the right.
Jump back across the two gaps above the skull blocks. Hang from the leftmost skull block. Let go to grab the smaller ledge below. Let go again and grab the ledge with the medikit. Wait for the gargoyle to the right to shoot a fireball. Then pull up, use the health if you need it, run to the left and climb the ladder. Use the switch (S2) to open the second door (D2) barring the exit.
Climb down the ladder, move to the right edge and jump down to the narrow ledge below the gargoyle. Hang from this ledge and drop to the floor.
Jump over the spike pit on the right and collect the second Golden Bell. Jump back over the spikes, then over the second spike pit. After using the switches (S1 and S2) above, the doors here will be open. Use dynamite to destroy the crumbling wall and reveal the exit.
NOTE: If you missed one of the switches or forgot to pick up more dynamite, climb onto the ledge with the teleporter (T4a). It deposits Lara on the ledge near the first teleporter (T4b). You can continue your explorations and return to the exit when ready.

Item Name: Golden Bell Item Code: QC1764 Description: A gold sanctifying bell commonly used in the final stages of a purification ritual. The gold bell is commonly associated with the sun, and any ritual involving a gold bell should be conducted at midday for best effect. Prior to starting any ritual, it is necessary to cleanse the body and relax the mind. Ring the bell loudly once to commence the ritual. Next, conduct the blessings provided in the Codex to the North, South, East and West. Finally, ring the bell once to end the ritual. |
Go to the right and place a bell in the hand of each Buddha statue. It doesn't seem to matter which bell you use for each statue, but they must be placed in order from left to right. Activating the third statue extends a ladder from the ceiling. Activating the fourth and fifth statues moves aside the blocks revealing a pair of teleporters. Strictly speaking, you need not activate the fourth and fifth statues, but each one enables a possible shortcut.
The most substantial shortcut can be taken by activating all five statues then stepping into the lower teleporter (T1a). Lara emerges near the ceiling of the room below (T1b) and falls, hopefully landing on a moving platform below. This platform moves up and down continually but you can't see it from the room above. So the timing is a bit difficult to predict. If you don't pause more than a moment between statues, Lara should land on the moving platform taking little or no damage. If Lara falls and dies, just restart the level and try again. Once you succeed, pick up the walkthrough below at the (*).
Another shortcut eliminates only one room but will still save some time. Place a bell in the hands of the first through fourth statues. Climb onto the block on the right to enter the upper teleporter (T2a). Lara emerges near the ceiling of the room to the left (T2b), hopefully landing on the moving platform, rather than falling to her death. Again, if you don't hesitate as you activate the statues, the timing should be just about right. Immediately duck to avoid the spikes on the ceiling, and then pick up the walkthrough below at the (**).
If you want to explore every part of the level, place bells in the hands of the first three Buddha statues. Then climb the ladder to a room with three more ladders above. Pull the movable block beneath the middle ladder, climb up and pull the switch (S1) to raise blocks in the floor making it flat all the way across. Climb down and move the block underneath the left ladder. Climb up and use that switch (S2) to lower the blocks in the floor forming shallow pits and also raising the spikes between the two pits.
Climb down and pull the block once to the left. You must do this or Lara won't be able to climb out of the pit safely. Climb over it and drop into the pit. Lara will land on a pressure pad (P4) which raises a block (B4) to the right. Climb out of the pit on the left side, climb over the block and push it beneath the ladder again. Climb up and use the switch (S2) once again to make the floor level.
Climb down and push the block beneath the rightmost ladder. Climb up and use the switch (S3) to raise the spikes and lower the blocks in the floor again. Climb down and pull the block once to the right. Climb over the block and drop into the pit, landing on another pressure pad (P5). This opens a door (D5) above on the right. Climb out of the pit and onto the movable block to reach the door you just opened.
Slide down the rope to land on a ledge with a medikit. If Lara's health bar is mostly full, leave the health for now. Hang from the edge and wait for a moving platform to approach from the left. Drop onto it and either hang from the edge or duck as it passes beneath the spikes on the ceiling.
(**) Walkthrough continues here if you took the second shortcut, above.
Hang from the left edge of the moving platform. When it moves all the way to the left, drop down to the ledge with the Uzis (GN1372). Grab them and quickly shoot the 2 monks on the right.
NOTE: If you took the shortcut or chose not to get the medikit earlier, you can still do so now. Climb back onto the moving platform, duck or hang from the edge when it passes beneath the spikes. When it moves to the right, stand up and jump up to grab the ledge above. Get the medikit, wait for the moving platform, drop onto it, then drop to the floor. (Watch out for the two openings in the floor.)
Climb down into the opening on the right and slide down the rope. There's a monk on the ledge above and to the right. Climb up and shoot him if you like, or just leave him and go on. (You can also ignore the movable block.)
Go to the left, jump over the spikes, and continue to a tall room with a moving platform. Stand beneath the platform and jump up to grab it. Pull up.
(*) Walkthrough continues here if you took the first shortcut, above.
Stand at the left edge of the moving platform. If you need health, jump to the alcove with the medikit when the platform moves level with it. Then wait for the platform and jump back onto it. Ride the platform all the way to the top and jump into the hallway on the left. (This jump is a bit tricky. It may help to jump just before the platform reaches its highest point.)
The blocks with skull designs warn of danger below. Hang from the edge and drop onto the crumbling floor. Move to the middle and fall through. Fall through another crumbling floor to land between 2 sets of spikes. Jump over the spikes to the left. Slide down the rope. Draw guns and shoot the purple spirit on the right.
There are two ways to get down from here: The path to the right involves another enemy, a monk. The path straight down along the left wall, involves a spike trap.
If you choose to go to the right, jump across the gap. Then follow the hallway to the right, slide down the rope and shoot the monk below. Drop down on the right. (Skip the next paragraph.)
Alternately, if you choose the left path, climb down two ledges and then slide down another shorter rope to land at the bottom left corner of the map. To the right is a low hallway with a movable block and spikes that extend and retract. Timing your moves carefully so Lara doesn't get skewered, wait for the spikes to retract and run into the hallway. Duck next to the movable block. When the spikes retract again, stand up, grab the block and push it to the right. If you don't hesitate, you can manage two pushes before the spikes extend and you must let go of the block and duck again. To be extra safe, just push once, then duck. Repeat this process to push the block all the way out of the hallway. Climb over the block and continue to the right.
Climb either of the two ladders leading to the room above. Here you'll find 6 movable blocks. The exit is behind the block on the right ledge, but before you move the blocks to reach it, take a side trip to pick up an artifact.
Climb onto the leftmost block. Jump to the ledge on the left and push the block there to reveal a teleporter (T3a). When you let go of the block, Lara is transported to another room at the top left corner of the map (T3b). Immediately draw guns and shoot the monk. Drop down twice on the right side and pick up the Stone Tablet (QC5801). Climb back onto the ledge, kill another monk, then drop down on the left. Go through the teleporter (T4a) to emerge back in the room with the 6 movable blocks (T4b).
Now climb down to the floor and move the blocks so you can reach the exit. (This is a bit hard to describe but the map shows how the blocks should be arranged.) First, push the block on the left against the other two, so you have three blocks lined up along the floor. Climb onto the blocks and pull the upper block once to the left. Climb over it and push it once more to the left. Hop down and pull, then push, the rightmost block against the right wall. Pull, then push the middle block against the rightmost block. Now you can climb up and pull the block on the ledge to the right revealing the exit.

Item Name: Uzi Item Code: GN1372 Description: This is a more powerful gun than the standard pistols that Lara always carries. They do twice as much damage as the pistols but have a limited ammount of ammunition. More ammunition can be picked up during the game. When you pick up the Uzi it automatically replaces the pistols until the ammunition runs out. |

Item Name: Stone Tablet Item Code: QC5801 Description: This stone tablet is carved with a script similar to that found in the Osiris Codex. Using the codex, Lara is able to analyse the script, which turns out to be a detailed description of the ancient Tibetan teleports. The key message is that motion on one side of a teleport will continue on the other side. In other words, jumping into a teleport on one side will result in you jumping out of the other side. This information could be vital to successfully pass through teleporters in later levels. |
You start at the bottom of this map. Pull the first of 3 movable blocks to the right. Climb over it and push it once more to the right, so it blocks the entrance. Pull the middle block once to the right. Then push the leftmost block once to the left. Now you can climb onto it to reach the ledge above.
Climb up and pull the movable block once to the right. Climb onto it and jump to grab the ledge above on the left. Pull up and drop down on the other side. Step into the teleporter (T1a) to emerge in a room to the right (T1b). Push the movable block to the left and step into the other teleporter (T2a) to return to the first teleporter room (T2b).
Push the movable block all the way to the right edge and climb onto it. Jump to grab the other block, which you moved earlier. Pull up into a hallway above the second teleporter room.
If Lara is very low on health, run to the right across the crumbling floor above the spike pit, climb the ladder, drop down on the other side and get the medipack. Return down the ladder the way you came and jump back across the spike pit to the left. If you don't need the medikit right now, leave it, since you'll return this way shortly.
Climb onto the ledge above on the left and wait for the spikes on the ceiling to retract before running past. Turn around, grab the ledge above, wait for the spikes on the floor to retract and then pull up and run to the right. Continue to the right and pull the movable block once to the left. Return past the two sets of cycling spikes to the hallway above the room with the second teleporter.
Jump across the spike pit (or run across the crumbling floor above it if you didn't do that earlier). Climb the ladder, drop down on the left and get the medipack (if you didn't before). Jump the gap, climb onto the block you moved earlier and then go up the long ladder. Continue climbing past the gargoyles shooting fireballs.
At the top, run to the left across a crumbling floor above spikes. If you don't need the medikit in the room on the left, push the movable block twice and climb the ladder past the purple spirits. (Skip the next paragraph.)
If you do want the health, leave the movable block where it is. Climb down the ladder, drop to the floor and kill the 2 monks. Climb the ledges on the left and use the medikit. Then climb the long ladder, avoiding the purple spirits as you go.
At the top, walk to the right and jump to grab the nearest block. Pull up, jump to grab the next block to the right and pull up again. Drop down on the other side to land on a square block. Drop and hang from the left side of that block, drop to grab a thin block below, then drop onto the block below that. Turn left and jump to grab the edge of the ledge with the spikes along the left wall. Don't pull up. Instead drop to grab the ledge below. Then drop to the narrow ledge below that. Turn right then jump to the right. You can't quite clear the spikes, so immediately climb out on the right before Lara's health drains away.
Climb the ledges to the medikit. Jump across the gap. Still hanging from the ledge, wait for the gargoyles below to spit fire, and then slide down the rope. Jump over the pressure pad (P1), which triggers the spike trap (T1) on the ceiling, and exit the level.
Drop down on the right and jump across two gaps to the right. Pull up, triggering the pressure pad (P1), which extends the spikes to the right. Grab the Uzi. Ignore the room below for now and jump back across the ledges to the left. Pass beneath the entrance and climb down the ladder to the left.
Climb the ledges and shoot the monk. Push the movable block twice to the left, climb over it and push it once to the right. Climb onto the block, face left and jump straight up to grab the ledge below the flame-shooting gargoyles. After two fireballs pass, pull up and immediately jump up to grab the ledge above. Again, wait for the fireballs, pull up, grab the ledge above and pull up to safety. Climb up one more ledge, turn right and jump over to the medikit.
Drop down onto the ledge below. There are 2 purple spirits hovering in the shallow pit to the right. To avoid them, jump three times to cross the crumbling stone platform and land on the next ledge. Otherwise, drop down into the pit, shoot the spirits and climb out on the other side.
Drop down on the right and jump the gap, grabbing onto the movable block. Pull up, climb over the ledge and pull the block underneath the ledge. Climb back over the ledge and push the block all the way to the right onto a pressure pad (P2), which extends another ledge (L2) below.
Climb the ladder and kill the 2 monks. Jump the gap and get the medipack. Climb down the ladder on the right and drop to the floor. Climb down and go through the doorway.
In the next room, quickly jump across the spike pit to avoid being skewered by spikes that descend from the ceiling.
Pull up and use the switch (S3) to extend a block (B3) with a ladder in the room to the right. The switch also retracts the spikes above the doorway. Jump back across the spike pit and return through the door to the room above.
Climb the ledges on the right, climb the ladder, jump the gap to the left, and climb down the next ladder. Pull the movable block as far as possible to the left. Climb over the ledge and push the block to the left edge. Climb back over the ledge onto the block. Jump the gap and drop down, grabbing each of the small ledges, and landing near the entrance. (Alternately, you can skip moving the block and drop directly from the right ledge down to the entrance, but Lara will lose quite a bit of health.)
Climb down into the room below and to the right of the entrance. Push the movable block onto the pressure pad (P4) to slide back a block (B4) above the exit. Climb the ladder on the right wall to the spot where you found the ammo clip earlier. At the top, turn left and jump down to the small ledge below. Jump once more to the left and drop down through the opening you just made. Immediately press Up to go through the doorway before the crumbling block collapses and Lara falls into the spikes.
Run along the hall to the left, climb the ledges and kill the 2 monks in the room above. Wait for the gargoyle above to shoot a fireball and climb over the ledge, triggering a pressure pad (P1), and down the ladder on the other side. Get the medikit off to the right.
There are 3 moving platforms (labeled A, B and C on the map, from right to left, in the order Lara reaches them). The pressure pad (P1) Lara just triggered causes the rightmost platform (A) to move up and down as long as Lara is standing on the pad. Stand on the pad to move the platform up then all the way back down into its lowest position. Be sure to drop down onto the ladder whenever a fireball passes overhead. After lowering the platform, climb onto it.
There are 2 pressure pads on the platform itself. The right pad (P2) moves this platform (A). The left pad (P3) moves the platform on the left (B). Stand on the right pad and ride the platform upward until it is about halfway up the room.
Step off the right pad and onto the left pad (P3) and watch the platform to the left move up and down. When it moves level with the platform Lara is standing on, jump over to it.
This platform (B) has 3 pressure pads. The right pad (P4) moves the platform on the right (A). The middle pad (P5) moves this platform (B), and the left pad (P6) moves a third platform (C), located just to the left. Walk across the middle pad (it doesn't matter if the platform Lara is on moves a bit) and step on the left pad (P6). Watch the platform to the left, and when it moves level with the one Lara is standing on, jump over to it.
This platform (C) has 2 pressure pads. The right pad (P7) moves the middle platform (i.e., B, the one to your immediate right). The left pad (P8) moves the pad it's on (C). Stand on the left pad. When the platform reaches its highest point, step to the left so it stops moving.
Walk to the left edge and jump into the mid-air teleporter (T1a) to emerge in the room at the top right corner of the map (T1b). Pick up the Ornamental Firestone (QC2063). Step into the teleporter (T2a) to emerge at the bottom left of the big room below (T2b).
Jump over the spike pit to the left and use the switch (S9) to retract the spikes off to the right and in the hallway at the upper right corner of this room.
Jump back over the spike pit, cross the floor that had been blocked by spikes, and continue to the right to another pressure pad (P10). Stand on this pad to move the platform (C) on the right. When it moves level with Lara, jump onto it.
Stand on the pad (P2) near the middle of the platform to move it up and down. When it moves level with the opening high on the right wall, step off the pad and jump into the opening. (NOTE: This jump is a little tricky. Try to make sure the platform is level with the opening so Lara won't miss and fall.)
Go to the right and drop down only twice. Then climb up on the left and use the switch (S11) to move the block (B11) above the leftmost moving platform (C). Climb back to the hallway above the switch. Walk to the edge and jump over to the platform (A). Stand on the left pressure pad (P3) until the middle platform (B) moves level with the one Lara is standing on. Then jump over to it.
Stand on the left pad (P6) to move the platform on the left (C) level with this one (B). Jump over to it.
Stand on the left pad (P8) to move the platform on which Lara is standing. Now that the block above (B11) has been moved, the platform will go higher. When it reaches its highest point, step to the left to stop it from moving.
Walk to the left edge and jump to grab the block above. Pull up and jump to the ladder on the left wall. Climb to the top, turn right and jump to grab the next block, pull up, step to the right and then jump to grab the ledge with the spikes.
Wait for the spikes on the ceiling to retract then pull up and immediately duck. Watch the timing of the spikes. When the floor and ceiling spikes retract, stand up and move to the right so Lara is standing under the second set of ceiling spikes. Immediately duck. Wait for the spikes to retract again and continue to the switch and medipack. Use the switch (S12) to extend a block (B12) below near the exit.
Carefully retrace your steps past the spikes, pausing and ducking under each set of ceiling spikes. The low ceiling prevents Lara from jumping, so hang from the edge and drop onto the ledge below. Walk to the right edge and jump to grab to the ledge you just extended. Pull up, use another medipack and exit the level.

Item Name: Ornamental Firestone Item Code: QC2063 Description: It may look like an ornament, but when held up to the light, the reflections through the crystal cast strange partial runes on the walls. Lara recalls a page in the Osiris Codex that she was unable to read. Is it possible that these partial runes combined with the unknown symbols in the Codex might result in an understandable message? Carefully opening the Codex to the appropriate page and positioning the crystal to reflect upon it, Lara is able to decipher the hidden message. The message details how the ancients used amber to preserve precious items, but specially hardened it so only the hottest fires could melt the amber and release the perfectly preserved item inside. It seems strange that such a message should be so well hidden, but maybe there is a reason for the secrecy. |
The beginning of this level is difficult. There are 4 monks on the level above and they all try and blast Lara with blue energy bolts as soon as she tries to climb up. Feel free to experiment—maybe your reflexes are better than mine—but here's what worked for me after several tries.
Climb up and use the small medipack. Then climb onto the ledge above. Pull up on the left side, draw guns, shoot twice to kill one monk and then quickly holster guns and drop back down through the opening.
Use the large medikit and climb back up to the opening. Again, pull up on the left. This time don't even bother shooting. Just run a few steps to the left, turn around and quickly pull up onto the ledge. If Lara has less than half health at this point, you may want to restart and try again. You'll need to be in fairly good shape later when you'll have to confront the remaining monks. But first, some climbing....
Pull up onto the square ledge just above and to the left. Move to the left edge and jump past the dangling rope to grab the next ledge; pull up. Shoot the switch (S1) on the wall to the right. This lowers a block on a chain (B1) above. (NOTE: Only shoot once. The switches in this level toggle in and out each time you shoot them so you can return things to their original positions.)
Climb on top of the thin wall to the left. Jump straight up to grab the edge of the block above. Pull up. Jump straight up to grab the edge of the block you just lowered and pull up again. Shoot the switch (S2) on the left wall to lower a large dangling block (B2) off to the right.
Hang from the right edge of this block (B1) and drop onto the L-shaped block below. Climb down on the right side of the L and jump past the dangling rope to land on the ledge to the right. Cross this ledge and pull up onto the block you just lowered (B2). Shoot the switch (S3) on the left wall to move a block (B3) above, revealing part of the ladder below the exit.
Move to the right edge of the block Lara is on (B2) and jump onto the small square ledge to the right. From there, jump to grab the ledge with the Uzis. Get them and slide down the rope all the way to the floor. Immediately draw those guns and shoot the monks before they kill Lara.
Cross the room to the left, dropping down into the opening and climbing out on the other side. (If you're really good and didn't use both of the health packs down near the entrance, drop down and get one now.)
Again, climb onto the ledge above and to the left of the opening in the floor. This time, climb up on the right and jump to grab the next block. Pull up and jump to grab the next block. Pull up, turn around, walk to the edge and jump to grab the ladder. Climb up, turn and shoot the switch (S4) on the right wall. This partially retracts the ledge (L4) above the previous switch (S3).
Climb to the bottom of the ladder. Then drop and grab the ledge below. Pull up, turn around and jump to grab the block to the right. Hang from the right edge and let go to slide down the rope.
Once more, cross the room and climb onto the ledge above the opening in the floor. This time, climb up onto the block on the left again. Jump past the rope to grab the next ledge on the left. Climb onto the thin wall ahead and drop down on the other side. Shoot the switch (S5) to lower a movable block (B5) from the ceiling in a room high up on the right. Slide down the rope to the floor.
For the last time, climb onto the ledge above the opening in the floor. Climb onto the block on the left again. Shoot the switch (S1) to the right again to return the block dangling from the chain (B1) to its original position (i.e., the higher position). Then climb onto the thin wall to the left. Pull up onto the block above. Turn and jump to grab the L-shaped block to the right; pull up. Turn and pull up onto the block dangling from the chain.
Jump from the right edge of the block to grab the edge of the ledge with the rope. Pull up. Climb onto the ledge above (L4). Climb onto the movable block (B5) and shoot the switch (S6) to the right. This extends a ledge (L6) halfway up the left wall, which will enable you to reach the switch there (S11).
Before heading for the switch, stand on the left side of the movable block (B5) and push it into the hallway with the spikes on the ceiling. As you go, the block will depress three pressure pads (P7, 8 and 9), retracting the spikes. Pull the block back out and go through the hallway, which is now safe. Use the switch (S10) to retract another block (B10) below the exit. Return past the pressure pads and climb over the movable block.
Drop down onto the ledge with the long rope hanging from it. Walk to the left edge and jump the gap to grab the block dangling from the chain (B1); pull up. Hang from the left side of that block and drop onto the ledge below. Use the switch (S11) to move the last block (B11) preventing Lara from reaching the exit.
Walk to the right edge. Jump to grab the L-shaped block to the right. Pull up. Turn and pull up onto the block dangling from the chain (B1). Jump from the right edge of that block to grab the ledge with the rope. Pull up. Climb onto the ledge above (L5).
Push the movable block (B5) to the left as far as it will go. Climb on top of it and jump across the gap to grab the ledge below the ladder; pull up. Climb the ladder, use the medikit and jump over to the exit.
Go to the left and pick up an ammo clip (GN4491). The way to the exit, farther down the hall to the left, is blocked by spikes. The goal in this level is to retract them using various switches.
If you want to, climb up into the hallway above, shoot the 3 monks and run to the left end to get a medipack or medikit (small and large). Use only what you need and save the other in case you need it later. Then drop back down near the entrance and go to the right. If Lara's health is nearly full, you can skip the confrontation with the three tribesmen, but you will need some health to survive a few upcoming falls and encounters with other enemies.
From the entrance, go to the right and climb onto the ledge. Grab the ledge above but wait for a fireball to pass before pulling up. Quickly move to the left and jump to grab the ladder overhead. Climb to the top. Go to the left, jump the gap and pull up.
Now Lara is on a ledge with a teleporter (T1a) in the center. Take one step toward it. Then jump into it. Lara emerges in mid-air near the top of this room (T1b). As the Stone Tablet found in the Buddha Shrine level suggests, jumping into the teleporter causes Lara to emerge jumping on the other side. That momentum will enable her to grab the ledge to the left. If you only step into the teleporter, she'll appear above and fall to the platform below, losing about half her health.
After teleporting and grabbing the ledge, pull up and shoot the 2 purple spirits. Then continue to the left.
Climb down onto the narrow ledge below the opening. Drop onto the ledge below that and then jump across the gap to the left. Climb the steps and use the switch (S1) to retract one set of spikes near the exit. Go back down the steps, and jump the gap to grab the ledge to the right. Let go and grab the ledge below (the one at the top of a long ladder). Don't climb down the ladder. Instead pull up, go to the right and jump across the gap to grab the ledge with the teleporter (T1a). Pull up.
Again, take one step toward the teleporter, then jump into it. Lara emerges above (T1b), sails through the air and grabs the ledge to the right. Pull up.
Go to the right, climb down onto the narrow ledge below and jump across the gap. Climb up to the right and use the switch (S2) to retract one set of spikes near the exit. Climb back down, jump back to the left and drop down onto the ledge below. Drop down again to grab the next lower ledge (the one at the top of a long ladder). Don't climb down the ladder. Instead pull up, go to the left and jump across the gap to grab the ledge with the teleporter (T1a). Pull up.
Again, take one step toward the teleporter, then jump into it. Lara emerges above (T1b), sails through the air and grabs the ledge to the left. This time, instead of pulling up, drop onto the platform below. (Lara will lose a little health but not as much as she would if she fell from the ceiling.)
Walk to the left edge of the platform and jump into the upper teleporter (T2a). Lara emerges jumping (at T2b) and grabs the ledge to the left. Pull up, shoot the purple spirit, then continue to the left to a vertical shaft with a ladder. Don't climb the ladder. Instead jump across the shaft to a room with windows and ladders.
Pass beneath the first ladder and climb the second. Climb onto the highest ledge, turn left, crouch and shoot the switch (S3) to retract another set of spikes near the exit. Climb back down to the floor and return to the right. Jump across the gap and then climb the ladder to the top. (To grab the ladder, drop and hang from the left edge of the ledge and then pull up onto the ladder.) At the top of the ladder, follow the passage back toward the teleporters and jump across.
Take one step toward the teleporter, then jump into it. Lara emerges above (T1b), sails through the air and grabs the ledge to the right. Again, instead of pulling up, drop onto the platform below.
Walk to the right edge of the platform and jump into the upper teleporter (T3a). Lara emerges jumping (at T3b) and grabs the ledge to the right. Pull up and go to the right to another vertical shaft with a ladder. Don't climb the ladder. Instead jump across the shaft to a room with a tall pillar moving up and down.
Stand next to the pillar, wait for it to move downward, then jump up and grab the edge. Pull up, draw guns and shoot the purple spirit. Then shoot the switch (S4) on the right wall to retract another set of spikes near the exit. Holster guns, hang from the right edge of the pillar, and when it descends again, let go. Pick up the Mural Fragment (QC8916). Ride thei pillar up then down again, dropping off on the left side when it descends.
Return to the left to the vertical shaft with the ladder. Jump the gap and climb the ladder to the top. (Again, to grab the ladder, drop and hang from the edge of the ledge and then pull up onto the ladder.) At the top of the ladder, follow the passage back toward the teleporters and jump across.
Again, take one step toward the teleporter (T1a) and then jump into it. Again Lara emerges above (at T1b), sails through the air and catches the ledge on the left. Again drop onto the platform below.
Walk to the left edge and press the Down key so Lara lowers herself off the platform into the bottom teleporter (T4a). Lara emerges hanging from a ledge below (T4b). Let go to drop onto the ledge below. Turn and jump into the hallway to the left. Continue left to the vertical shaft with the ladder. Jump past the ladder into another short passage with spikes on the ceiling. Wait for the spikes to retract then move past them. Climb down into the room below and pull the switch (S5) to retract another set of spikes near the exit.
Climb back up the ladder, carefully pass beneath the spikes and jump across the shaft to the ladder. Climb to the top, go to the right and jump back to the first teleporter.
NOTE: If Lara's health is getting low at this point, and if you killed the 3 monks at the start of the level and left one of the health packs, you might want to get it now. Instead of climbing up the ladder and jumping over to the first teleporter, climb to the bottom of the ladder, wait for a fireball to pass below you, drop down and run to the right. Lara will fall down the first hole and land on top of the health pack(s). Naturally, if you didn't kill the 3 monks, they'll be waiting here too. After topping off Lara's health, head to the right, drop down, continue to the right past the entrance and climb up to the first teleporter the way you went the first time.
One last time, take a step toward the teleporter (T1a) then jump into it. Lara emerges above (at T1b) and grabs the ledge ahead. Drop onto the platform below. Walk to the right edge and press the Down key so Lara lowers herself into the bottom teleporter (T5a). Lara emerges hanging from a ledge below (T5b). Let go to drop onto the ledge below. Turn and jump into the hallway to the right. Continue right to the vertical shaft with the ladder. Don't climb the ladder. Instead jump across into a room with a floating purple spirit.
Drop down, grab the ammo clip, climb onto the block on the right and shoot the spirit. Drop down into the room below. Slide the movable block away from the alcove with the switch (S6) and shoot it to retract the final set of spikes blocking the exit. Push the movable block against the left wall and climb out.
Climb up to the vertical shaft with the ladder and jump across. Climb to the bottom of the ladder and wait there for a fireball to pass. Drop to the floor, run to the right and drop down near the entrance. (NOTE: If you killed the monks on the floor above earlier and left one of the health packs, you might want to get it now. After using the health, drop back down on the right near the entrance.)
Go to the left. The spikes should all be retracted now. Exit the level.

Item Name: Mural Fragment Item Code: QC8916 Description: This appears to be a piece of a wall mural of a creature of unknown type. Interestingly, this piece appears to be designed to detach, as there are a set of hooks set in the back. It is possible that hooking this back in the place it belongs will activate or deactivate some trap or secret door. |
As the intro text suggests, this level is basically a large maze with the exit as the goal. There are a number of possible ways to get there. This walkthrough describes a fairly direct route that also gets all three item pick-ups. The route described here is also shown on the map. If you prefer, you can skip the pick-ups and go straight to the exit.
Following the route marked in red on the map: Get the medipack near the start and then go to the left. Climb down the short ladder and drop onto the small platform. Drop down on the left. Jump to the square block and then drop down on the right side. Go down the steps and drop to the ledge below. (Ignore the movable block and rope to the right.) Drop down twice more and jump to the right, past the dangling rope, to a ledge above another movable block.
Drop down onto the movable block and then push it to the right as far as it will go. You can't reach that medikit on the wall yet, but if you move the block now, you'll be able to get to the medikit from the other side later.
Return to the left and climb down the ladder to the floor. Run all the way across the bottom of the map to the right side. Climb up, jumping back and forth to reach each higher ledge. Climb the first ladder, jump across the gap to the right and climb the ladder above. At the top is a medipack. Climb all the way down to the floor the way you came.
Following the route marked in blue on the map: Return along the bottom of the map to the left. Lara will pass beneath two ledges, then come to a ledge with a ladder above. Grab that ladder and climb up. You can see the exit door to the left but you can't reach it yet.
Jump to grab the ladder above and climb to the top. Turn left and jump the gap. Go to the left beneath a dangling rope and jump the next gap. At the middle of this ledge, jump and grab the ledge above (the one shaped like a backwards 'L'). Climb on top of it, turn left and jump to grab the narrow ledge just beneath the skull-motif blocks on the ceiling. Cross this ledge and drop down onto the tiny square block below. Turn left and jump to the next tiny square block. Drop down on the left side, grabbing onto two more small square blocks and finally landing on a small rectangular block. Turn left and jump to the top of the ladder. Climb down onto the block you moved earlier. Jump from the right edge of the movable block to the medikit.
Following the route marked in green on the map: After getting the medikit, drop down on the right side. Go to the right and jump into the opening between the 2 short ladders.
Continue to the right, passing beneath the exit. When you reach the next ladder, don't climb it. Instead jump past it to grab the edge of the ledge ahead. Pull up and turn around. Jump straight up to grab the tiny ledge overhead. Pull up, turn right, then jump to grab the square block. Pull up and jump from the right edge of the square block past the ladder and into the alcove beyond it.
Don't climb the ladder. Instead, go into the alcove and climb onto the ledge above. Walk to the edge and jump past the ladder to grab the next ledge. Pull up and go left. When you reach the next ladder, don't climb it. Instead jump past it to grab the edge of the ledge ahead. Pull up.
Now Lara is right above the exit. Slide down the rope and finish the level.
Climb the ladder above the entrance and climb down the next ladder. Go to the right and use the Mural Fragment to raise the mural. The cinnabar Lara has been seeking is hidden behind it, encased in amber. To get at the urn inside, you'll need to break the amber somehow.
Pull the block of amber to the left until it's beneath the switch (S1). Climb onto the block and pull the switch. The block begins to descend and continues to move up and down the tall room.
There are 4 switches in various side areas on the way down. You don't have to pull them in any particular order. If you're doing a time trial or just want to finish quickly, it is possible to jump off the block, use each switch and then get back on the block as it descends. But if you miss the block the first time, just wait for it to return.
On the first trip down, jump off on the first ledge on the right. Climb over to the right, jump the gap and pull the switch (S2). This lowers one of four flame-spitting gargoyles at the bottom of the room. Drop down below the switch, go to the left, climb down two small ledges, and when the amber block moves level with the ledge Lara is on, jump over to it.
Ride down a little farther and jump to the next ledge on the right. Climb over the wall and drop down next to another switch (S3). Pull it to lower another gargoyle below. Drop down below the switch, go to the left and jump back onto the block as it passes.
Ride the block downward and jump off on the first ledge on the left that's near enough to reach. Climb to the top of the odd-shaped block and hang from the left edge. Drop to grab the edge of the alcove below. Pull up, turn and jump to the alcove with the switch (S4). Pull it to lower another gargoyle.
Drop to the ledge below and go to the right. Pick up the medipack and, if you need it, jump across the gap and get the second medipack. Take one step back from the edge and when the block moves past again, jump onto it. (If you don't step back first, Lara will overshoot the block and grab the ledge on the other side.)
Ride the block about 3/4 of the way to the top. When you pass the three narrow steps that you climbed down after using switch S2 (they're on the right), jump to the ledge on the left side. Drop down on the left side twice. Jump over to the last switch (S5) and use it to lower the remaining gargoyle. Drop down below the switch and go down the steps to the right.
When the block descends, jump onto it. Ride it all the way to the bottom of the room. When all four gargoyles have been lowered, they shoot flames at the block of amber, melting it so Lara can retrieve the Urn of Cinnabar (QC4645). (Lara is not injured in the process.)
Ride the moving platform all the way back up. At the top of the room, jump up to grab the edge of the opening in the ceiling. Pull up and go to the left.
Climb the ladder. At the top, jump over to the right. Drop down into the room with the movable blocks. Move the first block all the way to the left. Then pull the second block out of the doorway. Climb over it. Then climb the ledges to the exit.
Congratulations on a job well done!

Item Name: Urn Of Cinnabar Item Code: QC4645 Description: The urn of Cinnabar. The item that Lara has been searching for. Originally encased in amber and now freed from its ancient prison, Lara will need to hurry back to Scotland with her prize. The elements contained in the urn have many properties, but according to the Codex, the key property discovered by the ancient mystics was its use in a ritual to extend life. From the information gleaned in the Codex, Lara can assume that her mysterious employer needs to re-enact the ritual for their own purposes. Given the secrecy involved in this mission so far, she feels she should investigate her mysterious employer before handing over such an important treasure. |
