Story:

"Abyss" (Part 1 of 3)
While in NYC assisting Sara Pezzini, the current bearer of the Witchblade, Lara Croft encountered a foe unlike any other. The The One Who Sleeps used the power of The Weave to control Lara. Sara, aided by a mysterious group of beings from the future, was able to defeat The One Who Sleeps, but at a dear cost. The day was won, but Lara Croft has disappeared, presumed dead at the center of the large explosion that ended the conflict. Now Sara must live with the knowledge that she was unable to save her friend, while Lara deals with problems of a different nature.
